This is a truly magical and mystical place. Glastonbury Tor is a hill near Glastonbury town, with St Michael's Tower on its top. Rising to an elevation of 158 metres, this place offers great views upon the English countryside and also Glastonbury Festival.
Several buildings were constructed here during early medieval periods: early churches and a monks' hermitage. The head of a 10th or 11th century wheel cross has been recovered. The original wooden church was been destroyed, and the stone Church of St Michael built on the very site in the 14th century. today, only its tower remains. The Tor is often mentioned in Celtic mythology, particularly in myths linked to famous King Arthur, and still nowadays has numerous mythological and spiritual associations.
