Since years, this motel is a haven and welcome surprise to travellers. This roadside refuge was founded in 1952 offering a simple rustic and rural elegance. The exterior: comfortable and charming, overlooking the city of Twentynine Palms and not far from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
If you stay at Harmony Motel, you will be part of Rock music history. In December 1987, Irish big players U2 stopped and stayed here while on a roadtrip through the California desert to take photos for the cover of The Joshua Tree, their famous fifth studio album.
The motel hosted the band for an evening and room No. 4 was where they meeted to plan their shoot. This is why the Harmony Motel road sign is part of the album cover sleeve. Still today, the motel signage as seen on the cover exists. Try and recreate the picture when staying at this amazing place.
