Lake Powell is a water reservoir on the Colorado River, just between Utah and Arizona. As a major vacation spot this place is visited by around two million people each year. It is created by the flooding of Glen Canyon by the Glen Canyon Dam.
Part of the lake is Wahweap Bay in the far western part. Really worth a short detour. Crystal blue waters, red rocks, and boats set an idyllic and tranquil scenery. Stroll along the long-stretched beach collecting shells. Stand upon the dam watching the kayaks on Colorado River on their way towards Grand Canyon. By the way, also a place with history as some dinosaur skeletons were found here.
