Arriving at this place at sunset is really magical. Every single rock and canyon around is lightened in deep red colours mixed with brown and grey shades. The place offers beautiful views onto Little Colorado River and and bridges spanning over it. As the name tells, this is also a historical place - the hotel is more than 100 years old. Also attached are shops and a spacious restaurant.
You definitely need to be hungry when eating in the restaurant, whether for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Huge portions of onion rings, burgers, tacos, fried bread, and burritos are on the menu. Also many vegetarian options. For dessert, try extra-sweet Cactus Jack (milk shake with cactus fruit), Highway 89 Landslide (fried bread with ice cream and cream), or Koshare Stix (sticks with sugar and cinnamon).
Please be aware that this is Navajo ground. That means first, you won't get any alcohol. Second, watch the time - this place has a different time zone.
