Rouen Cathedral is located in the heart of Rouen city. A Roman Catholic church which is also see of the Archbishop of Rouen. The astonishing building has been erected in Gothic style, with construction beginning in the 12th century. Some windows are still decorated with stained glass of the 13th century.
The most famous paintings of Rouen Cathedral were done by Claude Monet, an Impressionist French artist. His series of paintings show the church at different times of the day and in different weather conditions.
