About Duchess of York (former)

Shoppers and tourists passing the shop of fashion label Hugo Boss today might find it hard to imagine that famous bands and artists from the likes of Pulp, Radiohead, Coldplay, Manic Street Preachers, or Blur once played in the small back room of the traditional and much-loved pub. The Duchess of York was an iconic live music venue that offering concerts every day from the late 80s until its closure in March 2000.

One of the absolute performance highlights was Grunge superstars Nirvana playing a show on Wednesday, 25 October 1989, in there to promote their first album Bleach. Have a view at the setlist of the evening here.
