Impressive Royal Liver Building is on your way, located near Pier Head lining the city's famous waterfront. It is also part of Liverpool's UNESCO-designated World Heritage Maritime Mercantile City.
The spectacular building with its total height of 98.2 metres has opened in 1911 as headquarters of an assurance company and still today, it is one of the most recognisable landmarks in the city. Two huge Liver Birds stand atop the clock towers of Royal Liver Building overlooking Mersey River. Legend says that were these two birds to fly away, then Liverpool will cease to exist.
