The Goldhawk Social Club was located at 205 Goldhawk Road in Shepherd’s Bush, Western London. It is probably best known as the venue where The Who regularly played during their early years. The band around Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey was called The Detours back then when they stood first on its stage on 7 June 1963.
Named The Who from 1964 onwards, they played the last gig here on
3 December 1965.
In 2014, a blue plaque commemorating these early gigs has been unveiled here.
