Manchester Town Hall is a Victorian, Neo-gothic building in the very heart of the city. Designed by architect Alfred Waterhouse, the town hall was completed in 1877. Its exterior is dominated by the clock tower with a height of 85 metres, housing Great Abel, the clock bell. Manchester Town Hall is reportedly regarded as one of the finest interpretations of Gothic revival architecture worldwide.
