This recreational club in Salford gained worldwide fame with its appearance on the inside cover of The Smiths’ album The Queen Is Dead from 1986.
The image by photographer Stephen Wright became so iconic, it still inspires numerous fans to take the pilgrimage here. When around, perhaps you're lucky to be given a little inside tour gaining access to the rooms kept as a reminder to the band.
Also Graham Nash and Allan Clarke from The Hollies were members here and used the property for rehearsals.
