If you got tickets for a gig in the stadium, note that basically every great world-class band or famous musician played in here. The first concert took place in 1982 with The Rolling Stones as first band to kick off the venue. Their European Tour promoted the album Tattoo you.
Looking at festivals, the stadium hosted in 1995 and the following year what we today know as Rock im Park in Nuremberg. Munich Olympic Park gave name to the Rock im Park festival, before the event moved to Nuremberg in 1997 and annually takes place there since.
In 2014, Rockavaria festival kicked off in the stadium with an amazing Rock and Metal line up right from the start before moving to central Munich venues in the following years.

The members collect items documenting Rock history of more than 70 years. From original guitars to backstage passes, concert posters and unique tickets. Anyway, you can still take the lift to the top of the tower. Well worth as the view from up there is mind blowing. Not only for an amazing view upon the city of Munich, but also for the panoramic outlook with the Alps being pretty close.
More than 170 stars have put their hands into Munich's solid ground so far. This Walk Of Stars features bands and musicians such as Metallica, Rammstein, Kings Of Leon, Roger Waters, or Kylie Minogue to name just a few. Not only Rock stars, also sport stars and other VIPs found their place. It’s a beautiful walk around the lake in Olympic Park anyway.
Of course, compared to the stadium, Olympic Hall is quite small. Nevertheless, 15,500 people fit in there. In terms of music history, the line up is no less to the one of the stadium. Pink Floyd played several shows in here, as well as The Rolling Stones, Green Day or Elton John, and Bryan Adams.
Every summer in June and July there is an alternative market festival south of Olympic Park called Tollwood Festival. It’s usually located behind the lake and hill opposite Olympic Tower.

Summer music festival owned and organized by Backstage venue. During July and August local newcomers and major renowned acts from Metal and Alternative can be seen at Free & Easy Festival for free.
Every summer in June and July near Olympic Park: Tollwood Festival plays host to an interesting music billing as well as comedy performances and similar. Also nice place to spend some time strolling around food and bar stalls.
Zenith is a major concert location in Munich. Situated north of the city centre, the old factory building has a unique spirit and atmosphere.
Fans of Indie, Punk, Underground: this is your Munich refuge. Strom is all about small intimate concerts in a brilliant club atmosphere.
Neue Theaterfabrik is north of Munich's inner city. A perfect place to listen to Indie, Alternative, Metal and much more.
Inmidst urban Werksviertel with its creative and inspiring atmosphere, Tonhalle is used as venue since 1996 and hosting music acts from Rock and Pop to Indie, Alternative, and Heavy Metal.
Little sister to Olympic Stadium, Olympic Hall is also host to the big names in music history with a capacity of more than 10,000 persons.
Rockavaria is a quite new festival focussing in Rock and Metal. Annually taking place in the inner heart of the Bavarian capital.
