Mapledurham Watermill is a historic watermill in Mapledurham, Oxfordshire. It was built in the 15th century, and is preserved in an operational state. The mill is located in the grounds of Mapledurham House.
The mill building is best known, and has gained worldwide recognition, for being featured on the cover of Black Sabbath's debut album. The image for the self-titled disc was photographed here, situated on river Thames. The album itself was released on Friday, the 13th in February of 1970. Standing in front of the watermill is a figure dressed in black.
